The American Optometric Association defines vision therapy as a sequence of neurosensory and neuromuscular activities individually prescribed and monitored by a doctor to develop, rehabilitate, and enhance visual skills and processing.

Vision therapy provides patients with the visual skills necessary to engage in school.  80% of what we learn is through the visual system, so if it is harder to gather visual information or process visual information it is likely that a student will disengage, lose confidence, and/or experience frustration.  Visual skill deficits are highly associated with attention-deficit/ hyperactivity disorder, dyslexia, and anxiety.

Our program:

  • The program is individualized based on the patient’s diagnoses, age, progress, and goals.
  • Sessions are once or twice a week, last 45 minutes in duration, and can take place In-person or virtually.
  • Courses tend to last between 3 and 12 months in duration depending on diagnosis and patient attendance consistency.
  • After school spots are available, but there may be a short waitlist.
  • Home activities are prescribed 5-10 minutes daily and are vital to patient success.
